  • Darsh Ravada - Co-President

    Darsh, a Third-Year studying Applied Statistics, currently serves as Co-President. He has always been enamored by the research-oriented, competitive nature of investing and highly values mentorship and learning from experienced investors. This summer he will be interning at Investure here in Charlottesville. Aside from GFSIF, he’s also involved in the Alternative Investment Fund and the McIntire Investment Institute.

  • Brandon Nesbit - Co-President & Director of Education

    Brandon Nesbit, a Second-Year from Reston, VA, currently serves as Co-President and Director of Education. He intends to pursue a major in Commerce (with a concentration in Finance and Accounting) and Chinese. In his first year, Brandon served as a Principal of the GFSIF. Beyond GFSIF, he serves as a Future Leaders Scholar at 180 Degrees Consulting, Senior Consultant at Enactus, and committee member at the Jefferson Society. In addition, he served as a Commercial Consulting intern this past summer.

Our Advisory Board

  • Jacob Slagle

    As the co-founder of the GFSIF at UVA, Jacob has had the distinct honor of leading the club in its mission to provide outstanding investment and finance resources to fellow students while building scholarships for future University of Virginia students. Jacob is a UVA alum who has experience in finance roles at both Markel Group and JPMorgan Chase & Co. Upon Jacob’s graduation in May, he is excited to transition into a full-time Analyst role at Ballast Consulting Group. Jacob values his time as president, appreciating the impact the GFSIF has in building a diverse finance and investment community at the University of Virginia across all academic fields. For any inquiries about getting involved in the club, Jacob encourages you to reach out, ready to share insights and a confident passion for finance.

  • Jonathan Rivers

    Jonathan, a UVA alum that double majored in Environmental Science and Religious Studies, is delighted to be a co-founder of the GFSIF. He has internship experience in consulting and private equity and has accepted an offer to work at McKinsey after graduation. He is an undergraduate fellow for the Religious Studies Department at UVA and also serves on the leadership teams for the Business Ethics Society and Cru at UVA. Jonathan enjoys fantasy football, nature documentaries, and card games. He will be applying to deferred MBA programs this semester.

  • Angel Lu

    Angel is a Third-Year intending on majoring in Applied Statistics. She’s been an active member of GFSIF since its founding, and is excited to serve as Director of Communications this year. This past summer, she interned at an investment bank and will be working in tech growth equity this coming summer. Outside of GFSIF, she’s also involved in the Alternative Investment Fund and Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity. In her free time, she enjoys running and keeping up with Premier League soccer.
